Olympic Challenge – Week 1 Update

olympicsTonight are the opening ceremonies for the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, and we have an update for the DECC Olympic Challenge – Go Gold!

In 1st place, Mark Leubner (Accounting) has 7 Gold medals.
In 2nd place, Erin Blazevic (Administration/Guest Services) is close behind with 6 Gold medals.
In 3rd place, there is a 4-way tie with each contestant at 5 Gold medals apiece! Joe Stanaway (Engineer), Jessica Noor (Runner/Cook), Steve Rankila (Building/Irvin Operations), and Julie Opack (Concessions) are following closely in contention for the podium at the end of the month.

Remember, you can earn medals by counting steps using a pedometer or similar device or by dedicating up to an hour of your day to exercising!

• 30-44 minutes/6,000 – 7,999 steps = Bronze (1 point)
• 45-59 minutes/8,000 – 9,999 steps = Silver (2 points)
• 60+ minutes/10,000+ steps = Gold (3 points)

Also, make sure to check out all of our FREE fitness classes, which can count for your hour of exercise! Schedules should be posted on your department’s bulletin boards. All classes take place in the Bridge Club EXCEPT for Yoga on Tuesdays and Fridays, which is in the Symphony Hall Mezzanine (upper level of the Symphony Hall lobby).
