May Wellness Update

Greetings,

April’s Wellness Lunch presenter was Michelle Russell, a private Holistic Health and Healing Touch Practitioner. Michelle guided us through the benefits of self-care: nourishing our bodies, calming our minds and lifting our spirits. Our wellness challenges have been in line with us physically taking care of ourselves each day such as: getting 8 hours of sleep, eating 2 cups of vegetables, drinking 6-8 glasses of water and doing at least 30 minutes of exercise.

However, this month’s Wellness Challenge is about our emotional and mental self. We challenge you to disconnect from electronic devices. That’s right, we’re going on a digital diet! You just might find that you’re less distracted and more focused, more creative, more accomplished and that you have finally quieted your mind. If not, try these other suggestions from Michelle: daily breathwork and meditation, journaling, affirming messages, spending time in nature, giving gratitude and practicing being in the moment.

May Wellness Challenge!
May 1 -31 – Disconnect from technology this month. Turn off your phone, computer, TV and other electronic devices for 1 hour each day. Can you disconnect?!

Fruit Fridays
Every other Friday on payday will be fruit available to all employees in the DECC Business Office. Enjoy!

EARTH DAY – THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the DECC’s Earth Day clean-up. Also, thank you to Building Services for organizing us! You ROCK! Let’s continue to be leaders in our community!
