DECC Fitness Classes

All employees are encouraged to attend any and all classes that interest them.  These classes offer various levels of strength and intensity and take place right here at the DECC.  If you feel like you may need some modifications, let the trainer know before class so they can help guide you.

CLASSIC YOGA

DESCRIPTION: Poses for strength, balance, and range of motion, with breathing exercises and guided relaxation at the end. Beginner-friendly, but experienced yoga students will also benefit.
EQUIPMENT: mats
TRAINER: Bonnie Ambrosi
COST: Free to all employees and a guest
LOCATION: Bonnie’s Classic Yoga classes are held in the Symphony Hall Mezzanine, unless otherwise noted on the calendar.


HIIT

DESCRIPTION: HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) class is a total body, heart pumping, aerobic and strength conditioning workout. This interval-based class combines full-body strength training with high intensity cardio bursts designed to tone your body, improve your endurance and clear your mind before the busy days get started. Modifications for all fitness levels are provided. (If you have a lot of joint pain and don’t ever want to jump…this class is probably not for you.)
EQUIPMENT: Anything Goes- mats, weights, balls, etc.
TRAINER: Mike or Julie Hendrickson
COST: FREE Thursday HIIT class at the DECC for employees
LOCATION: Meet at Employee Gym (may move to different locations around the building during class)


FIT4MOM CLASSES

Stroller Strides: Stroller Strides is a total fitness program that moms can do with her child(ren). Ages of children range from infants to 5+ year olds! Children must stay in the stroller or carrier during class. Concerned about this? Just ask the instructors and they will answer any question or concerns you have! Class includes power walking OR running and intervals of strength and body toning exercises using exercise tubing, the stroller and the environment.

Stroller Barre: Stroller Barre is a class format which incorporates movements from pilates, ballet and barre methods to provide a unique and effective workout for the pre and postnatal mom. Stroller Barre uses exercise ball, tubing, the stroller and the environment to provide an all over toning and fat burning experience. Ages of children range from infants to 5+ year olds! Children must stay in the stroller or carrier during class. Concerned about this? Just ask the instructors and they will answer any question or concerns you have!

Strides 360: Strides 360 promises a heart -pumping workout designed to increase your endurance while also developing speed, agility, and quickness to help you sprint through mom life. Bodyweight conditioning is strategically placed to provide recovery, strength and round out your workout. It’s for any mom interested in a workout that can be as hard as you need it to be on your good days or scaled back on days you’re not sure how you made it out the door! Bring your kiddos with you in the stroller or leave the kiddo and stroller at home and come play with your mom friends. Either way, the hour will fly by and leave you energized for the rest of your day!

FREE stroller classes for DECC employees and/or their spouses/partners that originate at the DECC or Bayfront Park
LOCATION: Location varies based on events and weather. Please check the calendar and contact Lisa if you plan to attend so they can make sure you are directed to the correct location for class.


ONLINE CLASSES

Stretch & Flexibility Online Video Series: Each week this online class will focus on building core strength, stability in joints, flexibility, awareness of weaknesses or areas of inflexibility through a variety of exercises. The moves in this class are not meant to be limited to this class time. The goal is to equip you with the necessary exercises, tools and self-awareness that is needed on a daily basis to improve strength, flexibility and maintenance of your bodies.
