Mikaela Sarran was a student at the University of Minnesota Duluth with a major in Public Health and a minor in Dance. She was the DECC Wellness Intern in the Fall of 2018 and the Spring of 2019.
She has been dancing for the past 20 years and teaching dance classes for 11 years. Mikaela has taught a range of dance classes including ballet barrè and floor, jazz, tap, conditioning for dance, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and pointe.
She was a member of the UMD dance team for 4 years and was a junior and senior captain. She has choreographed dance routines for basketball and football games for the UMD Dance Team, and choreographed competition routines for Shooting Stars Dance Studio, located in Cloquet.
During her time at the DECC, Mikaela helped plan fitness workouts, created an online stretch and flexibility video series, organized and taught dance classes to employees, and created signage for employee events. Check out her online video series below ↓↓
